Sara & her young ottb, Blanca.
I met Sara a few years ago while I was doing equine show photography here in Wisconsin, and it was fun to be able to capture personal portraits of her and her "pistol of a mare", Blanca, this summer.
I know Sara was very motivated to do a session with her current horse, Blanca, as she sadly lost her previous mare before she could document their bond with professional photos. Her quote above really captures why I do what I do: "We never know how long we get to be their teammate."
Thank you, Sara, for your trust in my creativity, it was a complete pleasure working with you. And a special thanks to Julie, our supreme ear-getter-upper. It was a fun evening full of laughs, gal pals and pretty photos, I couldn't ask for more! Enjoy some of my favorites below:
Sara and I did a further Album Design consultation to get all of her favorite images in one place. Typically, I start with an album draft of images a client has chosen, and then we work together to refine which images we want in large scale, cover material (Linen or Leather) and number of pages. It's fun work and I love getting into those details with people. I know it's something they'll enjoy having year after year. Sara went with a gorgeous 9x12 Linen Album in Mauve, with sweet Blanca as the cover image.
